The Asian Workshop on Polymer Processing (AWPP), first held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2001, is approaching its quarter-century anniversary. During this time, Asia has achieved remarkable growth as a global production center for plastic materials and products, and AWPP has played a crucial role as a forum for exchanging technical information and fostering collaboration in the field of plastics throughout the region.

By providing invaluable opportunities for researchers and engineers from across Asia to gather and interact, AWPP has contributed significantly to the sharing of knowledge, ranging from fundamental technologies that support frontline operations to cutting-edge research findings. Furthermore, it has fostered the development of strong networks within the plastics community.

In 2025, we are honored to host the 21st AWPP in Kanazawa, an ancient city steeped in tradition and culture. As the chairman of the organizing committee, I eagerly anticipate welcoming researchers and engineers from across Japan and Asia. I sincerely hope that this conference will facilitate dynamic exchange, valuable information sharing, and serve as a catalyst for fruitful collaborative research initiatives among all participants.
